Switch is a function that allows you to separate sections/offers in your campaign for different selected segments. By using this function, you can easily choose which tag, segment, or custom field should display desired content.
You might want to replace an offer, a headline, or an image. With Switch, you can choose to base your versions on either segment, tag, or custom field. If you choose to base the Switch on a custom field, only one custom field will be used for this purpose.
Examples of when to use switches
Target the same campaign but change the content for men or women
Target content to those who have shown interest in different types of products
Target content to different age groups
Target content based on activity
Target content based on amount limit or number of orders
How to set up a switch?
Open the campaign or automation where you want to customize selected parts of the email, then click on the section where you want to add a switch, as shown in the image below.
Once you have selected the section where you want to add a switch, you will see the functionality in the panel on the right. Click the "+" to add a switch, as shown in the image below. Here you also have the option to add as many switches as you want by clicking "+" to create a new switch.
The first version of your section can be designed as your default option. If members do not match any of the other switches you create, they will always receive the content shown in this section.
After clicking "+" to add a switch, you will see your default option. You will also see a switch where you can set the conditions for the switch, i.e., whether it should be based on a tag, a segment, or a member field.
Once the switch is created, you need to select the switch you want to modify and then replace the content (e.g., headline, copy, images, links, etc.). Here is an example of how we created a simple switch:

This is our default option in our switch.
This is our switch, intended for recipients who belong to the segment "Customer Club Bronze." In this example, you can see that we only replaced the image in our switch.
