Schedule campaigns with AI-optimized send time (STO)

AI-optimized time is a scheduling feature that automatically selects the best time of day to send your campaign to each individual recipient.

How does AI-optimized time work?

When you choose to schedule a campaign using AI-optimized time, our AI model does two things:

1. Calculates a personal send time between 00:00 and 23:59

For recipients where we have enough historical data, the AI analyzes past opens and determines the most likely time they will engage.

2. Uses a fallback time when not enough data exists

For recipients without sufficient history, the campaign is sent at the fallback time you specify in the schedule.

Our AI becomes more accurate over time

The model continuously improves as it learns from each recipient’s behavior.

The more activity a recipient generates, such as opens, clicks, and interactions. The more precise their personal send time becomes.

This means the impact of AI-optimized time grows stronger the more campaigns you send and the more engagement your audience produces.

Why can I only schedule AI-optimized send time for the next day and beyond?

AI-optimized time can only be used for send dates starting the following day.

This is because:

  • The AI calculates personal send times for the entire selected day.

  • If you schedule a campaign for today, some recipients’ optimal send time may already have passed.

  • By requiring at least one day’s lead time, we ensure every recipient can be reached at their ideal time.

Example: How fallback time works in practice

Imagine you:

  • choose “Schedule with AI-optimized time”

  • set the fallback time to 08:00

  • schedule the campaign for tomorrow

Here’s what will happen:

  • Recipients with a personal AI-calculated send time will receive the campaign at their individual optimal time tomorrow.

  • Recipients without enough historical data will receive the campaign at 08:00.

The full campaign is sent during the scheduled day — but each recipient receives it at the most appropriate time for them, or at the fallback time.

Early access

To get early access to the feature:

  1. Open the scheduling view for a campaign.

  2. Select “Schedule with AI-optimized time.”

  3. Click “Request early access” and complete the form.

We enable the feature on a per-account basis and will notify you by email once AI-optimized time has been unlocked for your account.

Identifying campaigns that use AI-optimized time

All campaigns scheduled or sent using AI-optimized time are clearly marked in the campaign overview.

This allows you to easily see which campaigns are using the feature—both under Scheduled and in the Sent campaigns list.

An icon is displayed next to the scheduled time, making it simple to:

  • identify campaigns using AI-driven send-time optimization

  • track and compare performance between regular sends and AI-optimized sends

  • ensure the feature is active when you intend to use it

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this affect delivery speed?

No. The campaign is distributed throughout the day, but delivery happens continuously based on each recipient’s individual send time.

Does the AI improve the more I use it?

Yes. The more behavioral data we collect from your recipients, the more accurate the model becomes — resulting in increasingly precise AI-calculated send times for your audience.

When is the AI-optimised send time updated?

The AI-optimised send time is automatically updated every 48 hours, based on new open and click behaviour. This allows the send time to continuously adjust and better match each recipient’s actual engagement patterns over time.
