An automation is a way to send emails automatically based on specific events or rules. Instead of sending each email manually, you can let the system handle it for you.
Automations can be triggered, for example, when someone subscribes to your newsletter, leaves items in their shopping cart, or has a birthday. By using automation, you save time, reach the right people at the right moment, and can create more relevant and effective email flows.
Remember that automations are not triggered by manual imports.
How do you create an automation?
Go to Automations and create a new automation.
Name your automation flow.
Choose what will trigger your automation, such as a tag or a segment.
Decide whether the send should be marketing or transactional.
Click Add a message to create an email or SMS.
At the end of the flow, you can choose to add a new tag or remove an existing tag from the subscribers.
After you have created and saved your email, you will see that your first email appears in your automation flow.
If you click the three dots to the right of the message, you will see four options:
Edit lets you return to the editor so you can adjust your email if you need to make any changes.
Statistics shows how many times the message has been sent and to which subscribers.
Create copy generates an additional message in the automation flow that is identical to the one you are copying.
Delete completely removes the message from the automation.
Delay
With the clock icon, you can set a delay for the message.
Note that messages in automations are sorted chronologically when a simple delay is used. However, if you add a custom delay, the messages will appear in the order they were created.
This is because each subscriber can have their own date value, which may be before, at the same time as, or after another date value, depending on the available subscriber data.
Activate the Automation
Once you have completed your flow the way you want it, double-check that everything in the flow is marked as Active.
When you are completely ready and want the flow to start sending, click Activate for the entire flow. This will move it from Inactive to Active.
