Text version

The text version is a summary of the email and is designed to be readable for users who open their email in clients that do not support HTML coding, such as the Apple Watch.

We recommend that you include the text for your newsletter, as well as a link to read the newsletter online. It is also important that the introduction of the text version matches the introduction of the HTML version to avoid ending up in spam.

How to add:

  1. Go to the campaign editor mode.
  2. Click on the three dots.
  3. Click on Plain text version.

The box for editing the plain text version will then appear.

End with Saving changes.

Alternative Text for Content
By including alternative text (ALT text) that briefly describes each image, you can still convey the image's meaning to those who cannot see it.

Another advantage of using ALT text for images is that it improves deliverability and reduces the risk of an email ending up in the spam folder, especially for Gmail users. It's definitely worth taking a little extra time to fill in this field when working with images in Rule.

To add alternative text to images:

Double-click on the image block where you want to add ALT text in this field.
