Back in stock
Back in stock is a part of our Product Alerts API and can be used to notify customers when a product that has been sold out is back in stock. The advantage of Back in stock is that the customer can choose to subscribe to updates regarding a specific product. When the stock status for the product changes and is updated, a selection of the customers who have chosen to subscribe will receive a notification about this. The number of customers who receive the notification about the product being available depends on how much stock is available compared to how many have chosen to subscribe to the back in stock notification. It is possible to
customize the settings
for how and when a notification should be sent. By using the Product Alerts API you can engage your customers more while also making the communication more relevant and accurate. Other uses for the Product Alerts API besides the back in stock functionality are:
Coming soon for new product launches.Pre-order to capture interest before a product is manufactured. To access the Back in stock functionality, you need to have knowledge of programming or have access to a developer who can help install the
Product Alerts API.
Once the setup is complete and the "Rule-ProductAlert" group has been created in your account, you can activate Historical data for this. If you do not activate Historical data, each alert will be overwritten with the latest one.
