Setting up 'Drag and drop' to retrieve content

In this article, we will go through step by step how to get started with fetching content from your website or e-commerce using Open Graph or Google Structured Data Markup. If your website supports Open Graph or Google Structured Data Markup, you can drag and drop content directly from your website into your campaign within Rule and all information will be automatically retrieved, instead of manually adding images, text, and links.

You can retrieve content used in templates in several ways, to find the method that suits you, click here!

What you need to set up on the internet

With the help of Open Graph meta tags, you can control what is retrieved from your website when a specific link is dragged into a block while creating your campaigns. This requires that your website supports Open Graph. Together with the person responsible for your website, make sure that the standard tags for Open Graph have the correct information. You can also add additional tags, as shown in the example below, so that Rule can use extra data from your website in the templates.

  1. Standard tags > template code:
  2. og:title > title
  3. og:image > image

og:url > url

  1. og:description > content
  2. Other tags > template code:

og:customTag > og.customTag

product:customTag > product.customTagOnce the support for Open Graph or Google Structured Data Markup is in place on your website, you can use this feature in your Campaigns, Automations, and Journey Builder. See below how to fetch the content!

When editing your campaign and want to fetch content from your website, drag the link into the block where you want to insert the content. See the clip below:

Then you can correct any text that has been captured to what is desired. Of course, it is also possible to change to a different image than the one captured.
