Calculate the number of characters in an SMS
A SMS unit consists of 160 characters
- This refers to "normal characters", or so-called standard characters
- You can send multiple SMS units in a sequence and pay a fixed cost per unit
- In Rule, you can send up to six units in a sequence, which corresponds to 800 characters
- Special characters such as emojis and other exotic letters consume more characters than standard characters, so we have chosen to exclude them.
- Links included in the SMS are clickable - this applies to both Android and iPhone.
