How do I add a custom field in SMS?

When creating an SMS and wanting to include a custom field - to make the message unique for the recipient, for example a discount code - we recommend that you first write the message in an email campaign.


Go to New campaign and click on Email. Write your message there:



From the drop-down menu Custom fields (see above), choose which custom fields you want your text to retrieve unique information from when the SMS is sent out. In this case, we chose [CustomField:Subscriber.FirstName].


NOTE! By creating the text in an email, the custom field will be automatically added. By avoiding manual input, you avoid potential typos that could result in the fields not matching and therefore not retrieving the correct subscriber information for the message.


Then copy the text from the email:



... and paste it into the SMS:
